BTS: shooting & Juliet

Going behind the scenes on the poster shoot for exciting new Max Martin musical ‘& Juliet’, starring Miriam-Teak Lee.

Watch me work with the cast and marketing wizards Dewynters to create two contrasting sets of images for the new musical directed by Luke Sheppard from David West read’s book.

1) Gelled, movement-based images for a new poster campaign,

2) Vogue-style fine art portraits, capturing designer Paloma Young’s beautiful costumes, for the ‘first-look’ marketing release to press ahead of the show’s opening in Manchester.

You can currently see the poster campaign – which was shortlisted for the Whatonstage Awards 2019 Best Art Direction’ Award – all over the London Underground and buses.

The portraits featured everywhere from the BBC to magazines and newspapers, as well as garnering thousands upon thousands of ‘likes’ online, before the show opened.

The shoot was commissioned by Fiona Pearce at Watch this Space Entertainment, with creative direction by Richard McDermott and Adam Fulrath at Dewynters.
