Acorn Antics: actress Charity Wakefield shot at dawn.
My portraits of The Great star & The Woodland Trust ambassador Charity Wakefield, shot in South London’s Brockwell Park for Broadleaf Magazine.
Charity Wakefield for Broadleaf Magazine
It was wellies at sunrise for a recent commission to shoot actress & Woodland Trust ambassador Charity Wakefield (The Great) for Broadleaf Magazine via her publicists Epilogue PR.
When not filming, Charity grows seedlings from acorn, so we sought out the oldest oak in South London’s Brockwell Park as our setting. The 500+ year-old giant was about as big as the oak sapling in Charity’s hands when Henry VIII reigned & as she played Mary Boleyn in Wolf Hall, it seemed extra apt.
With a narrow window to shoot & only one clear morning forecast, we met at 5.30am in a dew-drenched park & got our shots as the sun rose. Especial kudos to Charity for posing with Ãlan in 5 degree temperatures & for repurposing her child’s buggy as a mobile wardrobe & makeup station
