Going all Mushy over a Moving Image

Shooting moving imagery as well as campaign stills for the tour of heartwarming new show Mushy Lyrically Speaking, from Rifco.

I recently enjoyed a lovely commission from Rifco Theatre Company and Emma Martin Arts Marketing, to shoot poster imagery for the autumn tour of Mushy: Lyrically Speaking, a heartwarming new play about the Educating Yorkshire star written by Pravesh Kumar (Laila The Musical, The Deranged Marriage) infused with rap and lyrics by award-winning British rapper Raxstar (Keep It Undercover).

Heartwarming, but also moving in a literal sense, because as well as stills (see the poster below), I switched to continuous light to capture the same set up in motion, to create assets for the in-venue and online sides of the campaign.

The finished poster campaign, designed by Alison Collantine at Dreamfly, has real punch, and it’s been great to see the matching video doing the rounds online and on digital displays around the UK, ahead of the September run.
