Unfortunate suckers the competition!
My tentacled campaign wins the Advertising category at The Spotlight Awards
Lovely news this week.
My campaign imagery of Elliotte Williams N’Dure as Ursula in ‘Unfortunate: The Little Mermaid Parody Musical‘, made for Fat Rascal with designer Rebecca Pitt was chosen by a panel of ad creatives as the Advertising Category Winner in the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards.
There was some beautiful imagery in the category, which was judged by creatives from DHL, Wieden and Kennedy, M&C Saatchi Group, RWest, Ogilvy, MullenLowe, VMLY&R, Havas, Spotify & LG Electronics.
So, to be shortlisted was fantastic. To win, sublime!
Beyond the advertising category (in which I was also shortlisted for the Doctor Who: Time Fracture Campaign) the standard of work was phenomenal.
Huge congrats to Nicky Hamilton who was the overall winner for a truly stunning image. Check it out with everything else here: See all the Winners.
Making the Campaign
This was a real team effort as I took Rebecca’s concept & created a lush gold-purple lighting confection, then, with Rebecca on remote art direction, worked with Elliotte to create the energy & abandon of this under-the-sea villainess made gleefully real.
